Protest against shifting of Passport Seva Kendra centre from Baramulla

BARAMULLA, Feb 22: A peaceful protest demonstration was held on Thursday at Main Chowk Baramulla by Baramulla Joint Coordination Committee (BJCC) which includes Bar Association Baramulla, Beopar Mandal , Academic and Social Concerns forum and other non government organizations against the statement of Superintendent of Post Office Baramulla for shifting passport kendra service to District Bandipora.
According to the statement issued by BJCC that said that, the peaceful protest was led by Baramulla Joint Coordination Committee (BJCC) at Main Chowk Baramulla, during protest they shouted slogans against authorities for their neglect attitude towards this town.
The rally was addressed by president Bepor Manda Mohammad Ashraf Ganai , General Secretary Eng Tariq Ahmad Maglo, patron Bar Association Baramulla Sr Adv Gh Mohidin Wani,President Bar Association Baramulla Sr Adv Abdul Salam Rather ,Adv Hilal Ahmad Wani, Ishfaq Ahmad Shah EJAC and other members, said statement.
All the speakers highlighted the discriminating attitude of the government towards the district Baramulla.
They said that passport service centre was recently announced by Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti for Baramulla in her tweet, they said that while throwing CM's directions in wind Superintendent of Post Office Baramulla Vijay Chowdary had recommended Bandipora post office for the service without taking residents of Baramulla into confidence.
The speakers urged the government to take notice of the matter and recommend here in Baramulla as soon as possible, said statement.
