SRINAGAR, Feb 22: A senior BSF officer on Thursday said the border guards are on high alert along the frontiers in Jammu and Kashmir to foil the BAT attacks by Pakistani troops and infiltration attempts of militants. She said two Pakistani army men were killed in retaliatory firing of BSF and Army men along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector in north Kashmir yesterday. "Pakistan has been trying to disturb peace and tranquillity in India and J&K. They have been resorting to different ceasefire violations, sniping, BAT action and infiltration to disturb peace in J&K," Inspector General BSF, Sonali Mishra, told reporters after wreath-laying ceremony of a BSF constable S K Murmu, who died in Pakistani troops sniper fire along the LoC in Karnah sector of Tanghdar in North Kashmir on January 20 evening. She said the army and BSF men deployed along the frontiers are on high alert to foil the BAT-attacks by Pakistani troops and infiltration attempts of militants. Pakistani troops restored to fresh firing and mortar shelling in Uri sector today in which three civilians including a lady were injured. Sonali said the Uri sector used to witness very less ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops but now they are resorting to more ceasefire violations in the sector. "As per our reliable sources, Pakistani troops suffered two casualties," she said. They area ready to foil the infiltration attempts of militants and retaliate strongly to ceasefire violations by the Pakistani troops," added IG BSF.
