Jammu, Feb 27: Science club and NSS unit of GDC Basohli pre-celebrated the National Science Day - 2018 with zeal and ardency to mark the discovery of Raman Effect by Indian Physicist C.V. Raman. The program was inaugurated with lighting the traditional lamp by Prof. R. S. Jamwal, Principal of the college, Prof Papinder Bhagat, Convenor organizing committee, Prof. Rakesh Singh, NSS Program officer, Prof. Stanzin, HOD Commerce and Prof. Shiv Kumar, Convenor Science club followed by Sarswati Vandhana by college girls. Meenakshi Devi of B.Sc. Sem-II, Pankaj Singh of B.A. Sem-VI and Diksha Rani of B.Sc.-VI secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in Poster making competition, while Sakshi Billawria of B.Sc. Sem. VI, Mosmee of B.Sc. Sem-IV and Palvee Rani of B.Sc. Sem-VI secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively and Team-F comprising of students namely, Shivani Thakur, Seema Akther, Surinder Singh and Poonam Kumari secured 1st position in quiz competition. The winners were adjudged by Sh. Som Nath Principal JNV Basohli, Sh. Mukesh Gupta of Biology stream from JNV Basohli and Prof. Anil Dogra Dept. of Botany of the college. All the participants were felicitated with a handbook of competitive examination, book of General Knowledge, note book with pen and merit certificate. The proceeding of the function was conducted by Kajal Pathania, Upasna Nanda and Arjun Kumar students of Sem-VI of the college. After prize distribution a brief report of the event was presented by Prof. Shiv Kumar and the program was concluded with formal vote of thanks by Prof. Rakesh Singh HOD physics. |
