| Garbage heaps greet pilgrims at Shiv Khori guesthouse | | |  AB Sharma

Reasi, Feb 27: The pilgrims visiting government guesthouse near Shiv Khori shrine in Pouni here are greeted by garbage heaps surrounding the facility meant for tourists.
The pilgrims, who visit the guesthouse, said it was nauseating to visit the facility adding that whosoever visits the venue falls sick due to the infectious conditions.
"Is this how the government proposes to promote tourism?" questioned a group of pilgrims while pointing towards garbage heaps. The locals said guesthouse had become a stinking garbage dump and the place is not cleaned for months together.
When contacted, the Tourism department said the building is not owned by them but the shrine board. The shrine board, on the other hand, put the ball in the court of Tourism department saying that the Tourism department was responsible for the upkeep.
Meanwhile the devotees have appealed to the ministers concerned to initiate action against erring officials. |
