JAMMU, Feb 27: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ), in a press release issued, have expressed great wonder and surprise, as to how, in the name of being Pahari or speaking Pahari language, huge amount of money is being doled out to a section of people of a particular region, in a fanfare, out of government coffers, simply to appease certain political constituency without defining real term "Pahari" or speaking Pahari language. Ram Singh Chauhan and Kuldeep Kumar Rao, active members of the Movement, said that when it comes to being Pahari, it simply can not to live in areas surrounded by hillocks or mountains with very small or insignificant basic facilities of life of modern civilized society. And when it comes to speaking Pahari language, it can simply be inferred as the language spoken in that particular belt or region. The duo said that a critical analysis of the above terms vividly explains that in our state, there are regions with huge mountains in Himalyan range be it Bani, Basohli, Reasi, Mahore, Banihal, Bhaderwah or Kishtwar etc and when we talk of Pahari language, there are so many local dialects namely Gaddi, Sippi, Saraji, Pogli, Bhaderwahi, Bhalli, Kishtwari, Paddari, Pangwali etc the mention of these local Pahari languages is found in the Dogri dictionary published by Academy of Art, Culture & Languages Jammu, Then why there is pick & choose policy in distribution of bread & butter, fish & loaves to certain pockets only when these terms " Pahari and Pahari languages" are not properly defined not only by the government but also by any school of thoughts. |
