JKS Range Level Sports Festival underway

Jammu, Feb 27: Jammu Club & SRML School registered emphatic win in cricket event in the inaugural day of the "JKS Range level Sports Festival", which got underway at Parade Ground here today. The JKS Range Level Sports Festival which includes the events namely Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabbadi and Athletic for boys and Girls of under-19 level is being organized by Range Police Headquarters Jammu under Civic Action Program under the Overall Supervision of DIG Jammu.
In the inauguration function Rafiq Ul Hasan DIG Jammu the Chief Guest whereas Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu was the Guest of Honour in the inauguration function of the sports festival.
While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest DIG Jammu stated that the main objective of the J&K Police is to engage the boys and girls at school level in different sports activities throughout the year so that they become able to showcase their sports skills and maintain a positive view in both studies and Sports. He further said that as the India is slowly heading towards the Sports Nation and there are lots of opportunities as career in sports so he advised the participants to choose sports as career, never use any drugs in life and stay always healthy.
Earlier, in the first match Jammu Club defeated Samba Cricket eleven by 9 wickets. Batting first, Samba Eleven scored 105 runs for the loss of all wickets in 20 overs , with Shivsagar (32), Lada (23) and Rishu (15) being the main scorers. From Jammu Club Musaif took 5 wickets, Martuwan took 2 wickets while Praful and Sachin shared 1 wicket.
Jammu Rising Club, in reply could chased the target in 15.3 overs for the loss of 1 wicket thus won the match by 9 wickets. Sarthak 64, Musaif 16 and Rohan Gill 15 were the main scorers. From bowling side Rishu took 1 wicket. Sarthak was adjudged man of the match.
In second match SRML defeated GHS Samba by wickets. Batting first, GHS Samba scored 105 runs for the loss of all wickets in 16.4 overs, with Manav (25), Raman (20) and Amit (18) being the main scorers. From bowling side yogesh took 3 wickets, kanyhaiya also took 3 wickets, Vishal took 2 wickets and Abinav took 1 wicket.
