Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 26: Despite government's order to University of Jammu not to conduct interviews for any post, as the term of incumbent Vice-Chancellor has expired, the outgoing VC is going to conduct interviews. According to sources, the interviews for the post of Professors and Associate Professors scheduled on Tuesday, 27 March. "More interestingly, interviews will be conducted at VC's lodge", sources said and added that as per rules and government's instructions the outgoing VC cannot conduct interviews. In January this year, government had informed the JU authorities that in context of the tenure of VC, University of Kashmir having already come to end and that of VC, University of Jammu, shortly coming to an end, "no decision in regard to any policy matter or relating to selections/appointments to various senior vacant posts (teaching/non-teaching) should be taken without seeking the prior written approval from the office of the Chancellor", sources said. They said that after the Governor House's order on 24/01/2018, the Higher Education Department had asked the University of Jammu for postponement of selection process/interview for various positions in the university. "Interviews for the post Professors, in department of Mathematics and Department of Life Long Learning while Associate Professor in Department of Economic will be held on Tuesday that too in VC's lodge in Campus", they said. Sources further said that the Raj Bhawan has put on hold the interviews conducted by the incumbent VC a year ago due to some deficiencies, then by superseding government instructions the interviews are being conducted. |
