DHSJ officials defy GAD order | Website reveals less info, conceals more | | Bijay Charak
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 5: The officials of Directorate of Health Services Jammu (DHSJ) have virtually thrown the government order about updating the official website into the dustbin. In February this year, the General Administration Department (GAD) had issued an order instructing all government department heads to ensure effective implementation of the provisions of section (4) of J&K Right to information Act, 2009 in letter and spirit by hosting all requisite information on the official website and updating them periodically. "With a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy, the government has launched 'Digital India' programme but it seems it's not implemented by the officials of DHS Jammu. If anyone visit the website, there's information of previous year," sources said. They said many contact numbers of Block Medical Officers (BMOs) was not available on the website. However, in Kashmir division, the official website of DHS Kashmir is updated without a fail. The officials of DHS Jammu have also failed to upload information about the doctors' strength on the website. If one clicks the 'Human Resource' icon, the page does not open, while the DHS Kashmir has uploaded district wise list of doctors as well as paramedical posts sanctioned, in-position and vacant posts on their official website. It's beyond the imagination why the officials of DHS Jammu do not upload the information on the official website. The DHS Kashmir website also contains district wise cumulative work done. But in DHS Jammu website the option is missing. Orders and circular are daily updated on DHS Kashmir website, but on DHS Jammu website it shows only tender of previous year. The DHS Jammu website has Duty Roster of district hospitals has only two-three district hospitals and few community Health Centre duty roster of July 2017. It is pertinent to mention here that as per GAD orders, the government is asking departments for disclosure of RTI replies and appeals from time to time. But the DHS Jammu has failed to upload PIO-APIO list. DHS Jammu, Dr. Gurjeet Singh Soodan was not available for comments. |
