40 sheep killed in leopard attack | | | Early Times Report Gandoh, Apr 14: As many as 40 sheep were killed in a leopard attack at Malath Kutti village in Sub Division Gandoh on Saturday night. According to local residents, around 2 a.m. on Saturday, the leopard reportedly strayed into the shed belonged to a farmer and sucked blood of the sheep, killing 40 among them. There were 60 sheep in the shed. 20 others were badly injured in the attack. Lal Hussain came to know about the attack because of the commotion but did not venture out of the house due to fear. "There was no clue as to how many leopards strayed into the village. Foot marks were not left due to lack of humidity", local told. The panic-stricken villagers have demanded measures to trap the leopard. "The death of so many sheep has caused loss of over Rs. 4 lakh," Noor Hassain told. |
