Singh accuses CM of following Geelani's dictation | | | Early Times Report srinagar, Apr 14: Sacked BJP Minister Chaudary Lal Singh trained his guns at the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday by demanding her resignation on moral grounds. "We resigned on moral grounds. We did not want to let down our Prime Minister and our party President Amit Shah because negative campaign was launched against us," LaL Singh told reporters here. Taking a dig at the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, he said that she should have resigned as she is heading the Home Department. "If a train accident happens, the railway minister resigns. Similarly, the Home Minister should have resigned when the incident took place," Singh said. Singh claimed that claimed that he and Chander Prakash Ganga attended the rally organized by Hindu Ekta Manch on the directions of the party leadership and reiterated that rape and murder case of the victim should be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation. "Geelani said there should be no CBI probe, does that mean that separatists will dictate to Chief Minister?" he asked. He tried to dispel the notion that BJP was supporting the accused. "We went there as people were being terrorized. We wanted to defuse the tension," he added. Meanwhile Ganga said that Congress and media had created a perception that there was "no justice to daughters". "It was a conspiracy to defame BJP. We do no politics for the chair. I support lakhs of people who demand CBI probe. I can fight against the party and will also meet Prime Minister," he said adding there was "no pressure on us to resign neither were we made scapegoats". |
