Omar ignored the victim, didn't tweet | 'Basantgarh teacher's manhandling case' | | Early Times Report jammu, Apr 14: A teacher who was assaulted allegedly by a local MLA and his Personal Security Officers has neither been owned by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti nor by the National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah, who remains active on twitter. Despite the case being highlighted by the media Omar ignored it and did not tweet about the highhandedness of the local BJP MLA, who first allegedly thrashed a poor teacher and then got him attached. The victim Pritam Singh after being humiliated and assaulted by the local MLA approached the concerned police station but the police did not 'dare' to file a case against the powerful MLA. After police did not act Singh approached the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, who after hearing, the complaint, directed SHO Basantgarh to take necessary action. "The SHO, recorded statements of eights students who were prime witnesses when the incident took place in the class room as Singh was taking his class", sources said and added that the statements recorded by the then SHO, Basantgarh, were not favorable for the MLA. They said that in the meantime the SHO was transferred and the new SHO did not dare to pursue the case initiated by his predecessor. "However, the victim filed a case in court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Udhampur, who further forwarded the case Munsif Udhampur", the sources said and added that the Munsif directed the concerned SHO to file an enquiry report, but the SHO did ignored the order of Munsif court and did not submit the report. |
