Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 14: To celebrate the 127th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) while paying floral tributes to Baba Saheb presented its 204th Saturday series musical play "Baba Saheb" in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education, Janipur here today at open air theatre Durga Bhawan, Janipur. The programme was inaugurated by VK Magotra, former Regional Director of Directorate of Field & Publicity. Among the guest of honours present were Dr Anju Dogra, Health Department, Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Chief Medical Officer, R P Amla , Event Director and J K Raina, Freelance Producer- Director. Earlier, while delivering the welcome address, M L Dogra, chairman BLSKS, highlighted the Baba Saheb's mission of strong and prosperous India. He said Baba Saheb was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit-Buddhist Movement and campaigned against social discrimination against untouchables since he was a Dalit too adding that Baba Saheb also supported the rights of women and labour. Speaking on the occasion, M C Kotwal, General Secretary BLSKS explained aims and objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the sansthan for betterment of the society. |
