JAMMU, Apr 14: J&K Academy of Art Culture & Languages (JKAACL) organized 'Mehfil-e-Kalakar' at TRT, Jagti Township. With a view to giving a feel of Kashmir's rich folk music and theatre to TRT, Jagti township dwellers, the JKAACL, in collaboration with Chinar Art Foundation (CAF), presented an open musical and theatrical show (Mehfil-e-Kalakar) at Jagti Township. The event was held to showcase theatrical play titled "Ra'asiAagur" (The lost Origin). Written by J K Koul Bezan, a renowned writer, and ably directed by Sachin Dhar, a senior free-lance TV producer and film editor, besides giving the audience a feel of live-performances by a group of Kashmiri folk singers led by an ace singer and musicologist of the state, Rajesh Khar. The 3-hour show mesmerized the audience. The play, based on social themes, brought to the fore the essence of maintaining peace, order and tranquility and preserving the moral values for the welfare of the society. The performance of Kusum Dhar, a senior theatre and TV Artist, Manoj Bhat, Pummy Zutshi, Sunny Mujoo, Rahul Pandita, Rajesh Khar and Anil Koul Chingari, all renowned artists, was superb, and, the performance of budding amateur theatre artists Ajay Dhar, Meenakshi Shan, Ajay Waguzari and Ramesh Razdan was captivating. |
