| Lal Singh holds Kathua march, gets cool response from BJP | | |  Harpeet Singh Sethi

Kathu, Apr 17: Former minister and BJP legislator Choudhary Lal Singh on Tuesday addressed a number of roadside gatherings in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts as part of the Kathua march to demand CBI probe into the Rasana rape and murder case.
Lal Singh who was forced to resign last week for attending a rally organized by Hindu Ekta Munch also asked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to resign "on moral grounds."
Singh started his march from Jammu and addressed a gathering at Satwari Chowk. He also addressed number of roadside gatherings in Samba and Kathua districts of Jammu. However most of the local BJP leaders didn't turn to receive the expelled minister.
Singh also addressed a gathering in Kootha where relatives and family members of the accused are holding a protest to demand CBI probe into the case. "The fight is for justice only and its will be done with identifying real culprits," Singh was quoted having said while addressing a gathering in Jammu.
At Kathua, while addressing a gathering, Singh alleged that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah "have joined hands over the issue and both were harming the interests of Jammu people." Singh threatened that in coming days he is going to launch a mass agitation and will hold a mammoth rally in Jammu to demand CBI probe and narco test of the accused. He also criticized government for snapping internet in Jammu region. Singh and his colleague, Chander Prakash Ganga, resigned from the cabinet last week after outrage over their participation in a rally organized by Hindu Ekta Manch, a Hindu group. The Manch demands that the case be handed over to CBI for fair investigation. |
