BJP ministers resign to pave way from Cabinet reshuffle | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 17: Ahead of the cabinet reshuffle, all BJP ministers have resigned from the council of ministers due to directions from the highcommand. These resignations were aimed at to pave way for a reshuffle of the party ministers in the Mehbooba Mufti-led government. Credible sources said that there is no threat to PDP-BJP government, resignations will allow the party to induct fresh faces and retain previous ones who are already in the government based on their performance. The development comes mere three days after two BJP ministers, who had attended protests in favour of accused in horrific Kathua rape and murder case. Credible sources said that all cabinet ministers had submitted their resignations when Chander Parkash Ganga and Choudhary Lal Singh had resigned due to pressure from the high command. "There is no threaten to the government but resignation is being made to pave way for the reshuffle," a senior BJP leader revealed and added that cabinet reshuffle in the BJP became necessary when the PDP inducted Tassaduq Hussain Mufti and Javaid Mustafa Mir as cabinet ministers raising the strength of the party to 12, including Chief Minister, in the state cabinet. The Chief Minister later allotted Tourism portfolio to her brother Tassaduq Mufti while Javaid was assigned Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction and Floriculture departments. |
