Jammu, May 4: Shiv Sena and Dogra Front members today staged protest demonstration against dumping of dung in Bangana. They protesters were demanding the removal and resettlement of Pony and Ghodawala from the Mata Vaishno Devi track. There are over 5,000 ponies and horses that are used for transportation of goods and people on the Mata Vaishno Devi track. These animals are a source of a highly contagious and communicable zoonotic disease called glanders. The equine owners are at the greatest risk of being exposed to the deadly glanders virus which has no cure anywhere in the world. The person who contracts it from a horse/mule dies of flu-like symptoms. The party people who were present at the time of protest were Vijay, Tony, Bantu, Ganesh and various others were also present. |
