Jammu, May 4: The inter APS hockey championship of Northern Command concluded today.
The championship for Boys and Girls of Army Public Schools of Northern Command was organized under the aegis of Head Quarters Northern Command. There were overall 12 teams who participated (06 Boys and 06 Girls teams).
On day 1 there were 04 league matches and two semi finals.
First Semi Final for girls was won by APS Akhnoor defeating APS Rakhmuthi by 4-1, where as in second semifinal for boys APS Nagrota defeated APS Udhampur by 5-4. On 2nd day the in third semifinal for boys APS Akhnoor defeated APS Rakhmuthi. In the last semifinal between Girls APS Dhar Road defeated APS Udhampur.
Then the first final was played between APS Akhnoor and APS Nagrota where the boys of Nagrota won by 2-0. In the second final the girls of APS Dhar Road won by 1-0 over APS Akhnoor. The chief guest for prize distribution was Maj Sunil Kumar, special guest Mrs Nirmal Mahana, Principal, DPS Kathua and Avtar Singh Retd Dy Secretary. Vote of Thanks was presented by Principal KCS Mehta. |
