Students protest against govt for callous approach towards SSA teachers | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, May 4: The students in rural areas of Kishtwar district are badly hit due to continues strike of the teachers engaged under SSA forcing the students and their families to lodge an appeal with the government for speedy disposal of the grievances pertaining to SSA teachers. The SSA teachers have went on a two-day long lockup strike demanding their fundamental right throughout the state. They warned the government to redress the genuine demands of the teachers at an earliest otherwise they will have no option other than to come on the roads for fulfilling the genuine demands of SSA teachers. As per the details available with Early Times, large number of students of Government Girls Middle school Dekri of zone Inderwal, Kishtwar protested in favour of their teachers calling for an early end to the confrontation between the government and the agitating teachers. Students holding placards in their hands demanded the delinking of salaries of SSA teachers. They said that their teachers are not being paid their salaries from last several months resulting in huge resentment among them added that their teachers are in deep depression as they have to meet out many liabilities at home. They said that they are worried of their future because of the negligent attitude of the present government towards them and called upon the government to come out with proper policy to streamline the salaries of these teachers. One student Mitali Parihar said that how it is possible for our teachers to teach in the school if they are not being paid. Students urged upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the genuine demands of the SSA teachers and take cognizance of the matter personally, so that their studies do not get suffered any more. |
