Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: Aspirants of NEET have criticized the administration of Presentation Convent School for not allowing them to appear in examination on Sunday. Addressing media persons, the parents of students said that NEET examination was conducted on Sunday at Presentation Convent School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu by BOPEE, Jammu and when students reached in the Examination Centre, the management of school conducting exam NEET staff at Convent School tore out the sleeves of the cloths of female students belonging to a particular community. The girl students were forced to remove their Dupattas, Karhas at the entry gate and one student namely Priya Sharma and her parents then gate was closed and she was not allowed to enter the gate. Similarly, sleeves of another student Zakir Hussian were allegedly torn out / cut mercilessly and was not allowed whereas another student Amarjit Kour daughter of Ranjit Singh resident of Ramgarh forced to remove the Karpan. When student requested the staff that these were their religious signs/bindings, they were not allowed to enter the gate, jewellery of one Naina Sharma daughter of Vinod Sharma was removed and later on she was not allowed to appear in the Centre. The Coordination committee for Communal Harmony took the serious note of it and brought it immediately to the notice of Dy. Commissioner, SSP Jammu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu but no action was taken. The Coordination Committee alongwith students lodged FIR against the School Authorities and NEET Administration for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikh, Muslim and Hindu Community. Today, also Coordination Committee for Communal Harmony alongwith All Ladakh Student Welfare Association, Jammu, Mohd Jasarath Khan, Coordinator, Rashtriya Muslim Morcha BAMCEF, Narinder Singh Khalsa, and Harmanan Singh, representative of International Sikh Youth Federation, Shashi Sayal, Secretary, Mazdoor Dastkar Union, J&K and Yuva Bhim Sena collectively lodged protest against the Presentation Convent School and NEET Administration for hurting the religious sentiments of the aforesaid communities. The press conference was jointly addressed by Avtar Singh Khalsa, Secretary, District Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee demanded stern action against the culprits and further demanded that those student who were not allowed to sit in the examination, their examination must again be conducted separately. |
