| Rajouri police arrests parents of minor bride, groom | | |

Rajouri, May 7: The Rajouri police has arrested the parents of a minor boy and girl from a remote Rajouri village for solemnizing their marriage.
According to reports, a police team led by Yougal Manhas , SSP arrested the parents of a minor girl from a remote village for solemnizing her marriage.
The SSP said that police have booked the parents and few villagers in a case under sections 4-Infant Marriage Prevention Act 1985 (read with section 109 RPC) at Rajouri police station.
Police said that the boy is 9 years old and a student of 4th class while the girl is 10 years old and are residents of Kalakas and Dalhori villages respectively.
"Initial investigation was carried out by the Rajouri police after taking cognizance of the matte. Parents of both the boy and girl were booked," the police said.
Police said that the attempts are being made to arrest the remaining accused booked in the case who have gone underground after police action. |
