| No clerks, DFO's 'favourite' daily-wager takes care of Forest Deptt accounts | | | AB Sharma

rajouri, May 15: In brazen violation of norms, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nowshera here has given the crucial charge of accountant cum clerk to daily-wager instead of any skilled clerk or accountant, raising eyebrows of alleged financial mismanagement in the office.
Official sources said for the past three years, the DFO concerned has given the charge of financial transactions to a daily wager only because the latter happens to be a close aide of the officer.
"Instead of clerk, the work has been deliberately given to the daily wager who is his right hand so that financial irregularities remain a secret," the insider said.
The staff at the office said given the numerous complains of "frauds", the Vigilance Organization Jammu should look into the matter can start investigations.
The officials said it was against the protocol to give such sensitive charge to daily wager. Meanwhile the area locals have appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and the Forest Minister Rajiv Jasrotia to personally look into the matter.
Despite repeated attempts the concerned DFO couldn't be contacted for comments. |
