Make voluntary disclosure of Info; SIC directs SHRC | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, May 27: The State Information Commission has issued notice against SHRC for its failure to make voluntary disclosure of information under section 4 of J&K RTI Act 2009. Chief Information Commissioner Khurshid Ahmad Ganai has directed SHRC to adhere to this provision of RTI law. Details available with Early Times reveal that an appeal came up for hearing before State Information Commission (SIC) on 12-04-2018 at Srinagar. The appellant Dr. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool stated that he had to file the second appeal before the SIC as he did not receive complete information in response to his RTI application filed before SHRC on 22-09-2017. In response to his first appeal, the First Appellate Authority (FAA) J&K SHRC directed the PIO to provide the balance information but still the information was not provided and appellant filed 2nd appeal before SIC. SIC in its order ruled, "It transpires that most of the information sought has already been provided and on the assurance of the FAA that if any additional information is to be provided, the PIO will provide the same, this 2nd 3 appeal is disposed of with the direction that balance/remaining information as may be pointed out by the appellant may be provided to him as expeditiously as possible, not later than 30 days, after the appellant pinpoints the remaining information to be provided." With these directions the second appeal is disposed off. |
