Early Times Report

Udhampur, May 27: 'The Beti Bachao Beti Padao' slogan which was coined to empower women by BJP government has turned to be a hollow one and in Jammu and Kashmir State it proved to be 'Coalition with PDP Bachao'.
The way BJP made Defence Minister, Nirmal Sitaraman a scapegoat over the issue of unilateral ceasefire has received wide range of condemnations from different quarters of the society.
Sangram Singh a retired army officer informed that the entire world had a word of praise for India when for the first time a lady Nirmal Sitaraman was made the Defence Minister here and moved by such praises BJP started stretching it's chest
"However, the citadel crumbled within seconds when the denial to unilateral ceasefire during the month of Ramzan by this lady Defence Minister was overruled by Rajnath Singh Home Minister of India after the PM Modi directed him to do so," Singh maintained.
Sharda Devi a teacher said that this has demoralized the women of the country and this should not have been done.
An eighty year old man Badri Nath said that words of Nirmal Sitaraman were to be honoured and Rajnath should have acted like a responsible leader in this regard.
A senior Panthers Party leader said that all this was done to appease terrorists for votes of a particular community as general elections in the year 2019 are coming near.
However, there is an increase in violence in Kashmir with increase in terrorist attacks while on borders in Jammu, the Pakistan troops are violating the ceasefire and are targeting residential areas. This has resulted in killings of innocent public, cattle apart from large scale damage to the residential area. Among those who were killed in this Pakistani firing were an eight month old baby and a boy eight years of age.
A women rights activist Durga Dhar said if a woman of the stature of Defence Minister of India can be made a sacrificial lamb for the sake of votes then the political party doing so can cross any limit of stooping low to acquire power. He also said that all this is the politics of double standards which seems to have become the hall mark of BJP.
