Jammu, May 27 : In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu, Dr Vivek Gupta, today Police team from Police Station Gangyal arrested a truck driver and recovered 25 kg poppy straw from his possession.
Police spokesman said that while on routine naka duty at Kunjwani Jammu one truck which was on way from Narwal towards Bari Brahmana was signalled to stop for Police checking.
"During search of the vehicle, Police party recovered 25 Kgs Poppy Straw and in this regard a case under FIR No.48/2018 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Gangyal", said spokesman adding that the truck driver was arrested while truck and consignment was seized.
The recovery was made by SHO Gangyal, SI Nayat Ali under the supervision of SDPO City South, Jammu, Mohd Rafiq Manhas and SP City South Jammu, Sandeep Choudhary. |
