Early Times Report
POONCH, May 30: The locals of Lassana and Balakote block have alleged that majority of works carried out in past are lying on paper only but not on ground due to alleged nexus of VLW'S and BDO Lassana and Balakote over the years.
They said that those people who come to BDO Office for various construction related works have to pay commission to all chairs directly or indirectly.
They said that in Lassana block some Panchayats received funds in crores over the years but what lies on the ground is shocking. When a survey was started (which is still in progress) of some panchayats in Lassana and Balakote block, there was nothing concrete on ground but when the documents of funds sanctioned to some panchayats were seen, a massive scam came to limelight. There was nothing o ground. Some panchayats received huge amount of funds under NREGA for initiating developmental works but their utilization on ground always remained a big puzzle. There are more such panchayats in block Lassana and Balakote which are full of scandals. The blocks have become a fish market where GRS were involved in payments against commission for works which were not completed on the ground but on paper. Secy pyts are also involved in brazen wrong doing over the years.
JEs, Supervisors, Secy Pvts and BDO'S of Lassana and Balakote were also involved in commission culture and blue eyed Secy Pvts and some GRS were working as their touts behind the curtains. Even commission culture was extended to top officials of the department. In spite of huge wrongs doings in Block Lassana, locals questioned that on what basis the charge of DPO Poonch was given to BDO Lassana when former DPO Mukhlis Ali performed very well during his short stay as DPO from 15th March to 28th April.
They demanded a vigilance enquiry into all works of last there years in Lassana and Balakote block.
