RET Forum gives ultimatum to intensify agitation | | | Early Times Report Gandoh, June 9: The J&K Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Teachers Forum gave ultimatum to the government for de-linking of their salaries from Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). The forum staged a strong protest at SDM Office Gandoh Bhalesa and threatened to intensify their strike. Provincial Vice president Jammu JKTF Jamait Ali Agha said around 65000 ReT teachers have been recruited by the government since 2000 out of which 41000 were recruited under SSA scheme. "While these 41000 ReT teachers were regularized on basis of state ReT scheme their salary was not delinked from the SSA scheme which has resulted in delayed release of our monthly salaries," Agha Said, adding the regularized ReT teachers are paid their salaries in time. The ReT forum teachers accused the government of making hollow claims for de-linking salary of SSA teachers and said the delay in release of monthly wages has made their life miserable. "As per the orders issued from time to time by the government, our engagement is similar to the employees of other departments. We have to be paid consolidated wages but our cadre is similar to other employees," the protesting teachers said. The teachers also said besides failure of the government to de-link their salary, it has failed to streamline release of monthly salaries . |
