Admin ignoring our genuine demands: SKUAST-K employees
6/9/2018 10:47:37 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 9: The non-teaching employees of SKUAST-K have accused the administration of being indifferent towards their demands. The non-teaching employees have submitted a memorandum to the vice chancellor through their association.
The employees have told the Vice Chancellor that their association was unacceptable to some low performing high paid officers who are lacking decision-making ability.
"The administration has always played shilly-shally and evasive tactics in resolving their problems which has resulted in escalation of their grievances instead of alleviating them. This inhuman and unconstitutional attitude of the administration seems that they feel gratification on the torments of the employees who on the other hand feel themselves in the deep sense unsecure environment. Each and every file of the non teaching employees is being resubmitted to civil secretariat for the verbatim clarification whereas the files of teaching community are instantly being disposed of," the memorandum reads.
"The NTEA is ever abstemious and jurisprudent, unlike these officers of the university it will never indulge in any such activity that will tarnish the image of this apex educational institution, however the association will make all the efforts to acquire the rights of its employees within the ambit of the constitution of the country that has guaranteed to them as the equal citizens of the country," it reads.
They have also accused the administration several times for non-implementing recommendations of a committee. A committee headed by Dr Badural Hassan submitted its recommendations in June 2017 for redress of grievances of non-teaching employees of the agricultural university.
The employees' accused the university administration of not implementing the recommendations "deliberately". An official said that the vice chancellor has issued directives for "timely" implementation of the recommendations. "The administration is not interested in resolving the legitimate demands of employees," he said.
He said that university lacks non-teaching manpower. "In some departments, DDOs have to look after three to four departments," he said. He accused the administration of transferring employees on "personal animosity".
