Army, militants exchange fire in Bandipora | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 9: Government forces and militants on Saturday evening exchanged a brief fire in the forest area of Bandipora district of north Kashmir. A police officer said that army's 14 RR cordoned off Raynar forest area following the suspicious movement. Militants hiding in the area opened fire upon them triggering off a brief gunfight, he said. He said that there was no immediate report of any casualty on either side. The officer said that additional reinforcements of army and SOG were rushed to the area. The officer said that the operation was so far suspended in wake of darkness. He said that it was not immediately known whether the militants managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness or were trapped in the woods |
