Jammu, June 11: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu organized its fortnightly literary meet on Sunday at Tagore Academy, Rani Talab, Digiana, Jammu. S. Piara Singh Dhanjal, a well known Punjabi writer of Jammu presided over the meetinting. S. Harjit Singh Uppal conducted the meet as Dr. Monojit, Dr. Baljit Singh and S. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik President, General Secretary and Reasurer respectively) were out of station to attend other literary assignments. Harjit Singh Uppal welcomed all the writers. A session of essays short story reading and poetry recitation was conducted in which Pritam Singh Anjaan, Amar Singh Kuka, Piara Singh Dhanjal, Kulwant Singh (from Kashmir), Resham Kaur, Jang S. Verman, Harjit Singh Uppal presented their items and views on the items presented during the meet. The themes of the items presented depicted social, cultural issues in various genres. Satire Essay by Pritam Singh Anjaan on the prevailing political, social and religious situation in the country. In his presidential address S. Piara Singh Dhanjal appreciated that PLS- J is conducting its meets without any break and spreading awareness through essays, articles and presenting papers. He said that the poets and writers are also contributing their latest creations in these meetings. |
