National Anthem disrespected at CM's iftaar, HM embarrassed | | | Early Times Report srinagar, June 11: Shocking disrespect to the country was been caught on camera at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's Iftar Party. In the official event that was held on June 7 in Srinagar, and even attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who was on a two-day visit to J&K, guests were seen seated on circular tables in a lawn with picturesque mountains in the background. The National Anthem was played, but the guests who were present there at the personal invitation of Mehbooba Mufti, remained aloof and didn't stand. The event was organised at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar near the iconic Dal Lake. It was attended not only by members of the PDP and BJP but also by state Opposition leaders such as JKNC vice president and former J&K CM Omar Abdullah who was seated with the Home Minister and Mehbooba Mufti on stage. The Home Minister had visited India's north-most state amid a Ramzan ceasefire in terms of anti-terror operations, but also at a time when Pakistan has been resorting to daily unprovoked ceasefire violations, targeting civilians and security forces alike. |
