The monuments in India are among the best in the world for their archaeological value, design and historical significance but it is disturbing fact that we have not looked these monuments properly. The majority of them are in bad shape. India has a large number of world's famous monuments like Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Golden Temple etc. Their conditions is deteriorating fast because of gross neglect. In most of the monuments, the stones and bricks havecome out. They have either not been repaired at all or if they have been repaired, then the difference of material and design is visible. The foods available at the shops around these sites are dirty and contaminated. The facilities are as old as they were decades ago.Sanitation facilities are not available, people keep on sleeping, eating, splitting and littering within the premises. Old temples, churches are becoming weak and dull due to weathering and effect of pollution. Taking care of monuments is an important duty of state as well as of central government. Government must provide adequate amount of funds for each monments. Commities formed to look after them must be answerable, if some damages are caused. Monuments represents our tradition, history, culture, arts and design. They are related to historical events. They are the symbol of architectural skills. The government should pay proper attention and save them from ruining away. |
