National level socialist leader takes initiatives to bring PDP closer to Cong

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 30: Despite opposition by Ghulam Nabi Azad and other party leaders, a top national socialist leader is working overtime to iron-out differences between Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. This top socialist leader, who is also very close to Mufti family as well as top leadership of Congress, has suggested that both PDP and Congress should forget old issues and have to work jointly to frustrate BJP's design in Kashmir Valley. Credible sources said that this socialist leader was very close to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during the time of Janta Dal so he is using his influence at national level to bring peace among PDP and Congress. "It is too early to say any thing but one thing is clear that socialist and secular forces are working overtime to bring PDP into the fold of the group of opposition parties which are working at national level to stop BJP from return back to power in 2019", sources said. President JKPCC Ghulam Ahmad Mir, on the other hand has said that any such attempt by any quarter to defeat the constitutional provisions of anti defection law would be met with tough resistance by the people who would not accept any back door entry to power. In an handout issued by the party Mir has lashed out at BJP for its desperate attempts to explore possibilities but any effort to indulge in any such exercise by adopting illegal and unconstitutional means would entail serious consequences. He said the consequences of the betrayal of mandate and formation of an unholy alliance by PDP-BJP against the nature of respective mandate of two parties, is before everyone. He cautioned the political forces and individuals to desist from such tactics otherwise they shall be responsible for any further deterioration in the overall worst political and security situation.
