Early Times Report

Jammu, July 6: It may sound bizarre but it is true that the main office of Indian Red Cross Society Jammu has become only showcase for visitors as the officials posted in the Red Cross office prefer to close the office during holidays.
Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is a voluntary humanitarian organization to protect human life and health of civilians.
A group of people yesterday visited Jammu main office and found that the lone office was closed and the people returned empty hands.
The purpose behind establishing the office is being defeated in each and every where as officials preferred to close the office during holidays.
"However, the government has paid two and half day salaries for providing services but the officials arbitrary closed the office on the day when state declared holiday on account of birthday of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji-sixth Guru of Sikhs.
Everyone knows that the Amarnath Ji Yatra is ongoing and the pilgrimage was intermittent owing to heavy rains in last days forcing the pilgrims to strand in city of Temples and if any untoward incident happen then how the Red Cross society provide service to them with closed office which clearly exhibit lackadaisical attitude of the officials at the helms of affair which takes the functioning for grant.
Despite the fact that their prime job is to carry out family welfare works but on the contrary it has been observed that it has not maintained maternity record which is mandatory. Although there are three lady doctors deputed for the taking care of the gynaecological issues but no such practice has been seen there. It has totally overlooked the immunization of children, no participation in pulse polio, no laboratory tests are done there, no OPD register has been maintained by the officials of the Indian Red Cross Society.
