DySP continues to interfere in SHO’s work | Strikes deal with scarp dealer, books other in theft case | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 6: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) posted in one the Districts of Jammu-Kathua-Samba (JKS) Range is continuously interfering in the working of one of his subordinate who is Station House Officer (SHO) and struck a deal with scrap dealer who has allegedly purchased stolen inverter battery. According to sources, few days ago, a SHO who is subordinate to the DySP in question had arrested dozens of addicts who also indulge in peddling of heroin in the district. If sources are to be believed, after questioning two of the addicts involved in peddling of drugs in the district admitted the offense and said that they had also stolen two inverter batteries from the residence of a politically affiliated person and sold both the batteries to two different scrap dealers in the district. "When the two youth accepted the theft of two inverter batteries, the DySP who was present in the said police station in civvies called the scarp dealers in police station", said a source adding that one scrap dealer who runs his business on National Highway and also pays monthly money to the said DySP after questioning admitted that he had purchased one luminous battery from the said youth. The scrap dealer told the officer that he had purchased the inverter battery for Rs 1200 and also handed over the said battery to Police while another scrap dealer who runs his business in border village of the district was also called in the police station and second battery was also recovered from him. However, the said officer ordered registration of FIR against the other scarp dealer who failed to pay money to the said DySP as he belonged to poor family. It is pertinent to mention here that recently, the said DySP in question had also struck deal with two Kashmir based drug peddlers, when a truck loaded with poppy straw was intercepted by police in a joint naka in his jurisdiction. The truck was intercepted and after recovery of poppy straw, the truck was handed over to said DySP as the concerned SHO was on leave. Three persons who were travelling in the said truck were also handed over to police but the said DySP struck deal with minors who were present in the truck and registered FIR against the truck driver only. |
