JAMMU, July 6: Due to junior doctors' strike at the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, the patients and their attendants are running from pillar to post for treatment without results. Following non-fulfilment of the demands, the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) GMC Jammu as well as Srinagar had called for an indefinite strike, affecting all hospital facilities, including emergency services, the working of the OPD as well as the IPD resulting in inconvenience to patients, many of whom had come from far off places for treatment. Sticking to their stand, RDA GMC Jammu said the strike will continue till all the residents terminated are reinstated. In a written statement issued here, the RDA GMC Jammu states that they have raised two demands including reinstate terminated doctors and written assurance from the administration for implementation of 7th pay commission to both PG Resident and Registrar. "The striking doctors have given 48 hours ultimatum to resolve the issue after that they will stop all services," Principal of GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina said adding if the issue is not resolved, the vacations of the doctors might be canceled. She claimed that the junior doctors were working in IPD, OPDS despite the strike. But the Head of various Departments dif not agree with the s Principal, a few of them made roster of senior doctors and some are without Roster had asked senior doctors to attend OPDs and IPDs since the juniors had gone on strike |
