Army establishes skill Training Centre in Kupwara | | | Early Times Report
Kupwara, July 6: In an endeavor to empower the Kashmiri youth, Army inaugurated a Skill Training Centre at Drugmulla in North Kashmir's Kupwara District. Skill Development Centre, Drugmulla set up by the Army is the only National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) accredited training centre in Kupwara which aims to provide job oriented training to youth. Orion Edutech as Training Partner of NSDC will be responsible for conducting the training at the Centre with effect from 2nd week of July 2018. The Training Centre was formally inaugurated by GOC, Vajra Division. While speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding (GOC) CB Ponnappa, said that Army is genuinely striving to provide opportunities for youth and enabling them to keep pace with the development. He appealed the youth to come forward to make the best use of this maiden opportunity and make themselves eligible for gainful employment schemes. On the occasion, representatives from NSDC, Kehkashan Anjum (NSDC State Engagement Officer) and Soumen Acharya (AGM, Orion Edutech) spoke about the initiative undertaken by the Army and the advantages that will accrue to the youth. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir congratulated the Army for taking the lead in a domain specific to civil administration by establishing the training centre. He also brought out that similar schemes are being planned by state and district administration. |
