| Despite complaints, VO fails to initiate action against RDD Rajouri | | |

Sunderbani, July 12: The people of Sunderbani in Rajouri have expressed astonishment over Vigilance Organisation's nonchalance to take cognizance of complaints of wrongdoings in the Rural Development Department. The Vigilance has received written complaints from various quarters in Sunderbani against RDD, alleging misappropriation of funds allotted for various developmental works.
The complaints were lodged at Director Office Jammu from where no action has been initiated so far. The complaints were registered in 2016-17.
It is being alleged that the RDD has been under the scanner for past many years since the incumbent officers including JE, BDO and VLWs have been executing various MGNREGA works under their own whims and fancies denying the bonafide rights of the genuine workers.
Despite all these allegations against the RDD Sunderbani, people are asking why the Deputy Superintendent of Vigilance with whom are complaints are pending has not taken action against the department.
The sources in the department allege that RDD higher ups enjoyed blessings of some former ministers and others in the administration. That is why even the Vigilance has shied away from taking any action against the department.
The people of the area have demanded that the Governor administration should constitute a team of Vigilance officials to probe into all wrongdoings of the department. |
