GDC Bishnah organizes 'Swachh Bharat Summer Internship'

Jammu, July 12: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Bishnah started the next phase of 'Swacchh Bharat Summer Internship' at Chorli Panchayat. The interns alongwith the Nodal Officer , Prof Amit Kumar Sharma interacted with the Panches and Lambardaars in order to understand the demography and geography of the Panchayat Chorli constituted by three villages Chorli, Kothey and Sri Partap Singh Pura .After interaction with them, the Nodal Officer divided the interns into four teams for the door to door survey of the households as to how and where do the residents dispose off their kitchen waste and whether they have constructed the toilets in their homes. During the survey, it was observed by the interns that the residents do not segregate the waste and throw the same in the open spaces near road and the water bodies. Most of the households at Chorli village have constructed the toilets. The 2nd phase of Summer Internship shall go on for another two weeks at Chorli and Ratnal.The Principal of the college appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm shown by the interns in executing the various activities under the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship and exhorted them to work with same energy to accomplish the vision underlying the summer internship.
