| Former Sarpanches Asso. demands action against BDO | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 12: Association of Sarpanches (former),Thanamandi have demanded action against Block Development Officer (BDO) for his failure to provide satisfactory services to the people of this block.
In this connection a deputation of the former sarpanches lead by Mohd Abdullah , Mohd Hussain and others today met with Deputy Commissioner at Rajouri and apprised him about their grievances being faced by the lackadaisical attitude of the BDO. Aggrieved former sarpanches reportedly informed the DC that besides helping a selected group of people they said BDO has not released the payments for three months for the works carried out under MGNREGA, SBM-G and salaries of the employees working under Rural Development Department (RDD). Before meeting with the DC , these former sarpanches have also held protest demonstration before the office of Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD). They also resented the attachment of one Muneer Hussain , Village Level Worker (VLW) who according to them is a hard worker and helping the people in need. "We were protesting against the BDO and demanding action against him while he in order to save his skin has attached the VLW to divert the attention of the senior officers and to show them that the protest was held against him (VLW) alleged Mohd Iqbal and Mohd Mumtaj. |
