Terrorist recruitments from J&K spike in recent weeks, Intel agencies raise red flags
7/12/2018 11:55:18 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, July 12: A significant spike in terrorist activity has been noted in the state of Jammu of Kashmir with satellite phones purportedly linked to terrorists otherwise 'dormant' or switched off in the valley now becoming active. Latest intelligence reports also suggest terrorists have managed to infiltrate the state and ready to strike.
A number of terrorists were spotted in different regions in the valley. Lashkar-e-Taiba's Abu Islam who was responsible for attacks in Hajan is on the prowl for carrying out attacks on new targets, according to intelligence inputs.
The number of terrorists recruited from inside Jammu and Kashmir has also increased in recent weeks. This means increased support for terror activity in the state which is quite worrisome. In a plot to create mischief in the Kashmir valley, terrorists managed to infiltrate and are now ready to carry out more attacks, warned an intel report. At the Tunga Top area of Tehregam, three unidentified terrorists were spotted. Another group of three unidentified terrorists were seen at Chaukibal. The group was seen moving from Zunrashi to Khanabal where there is a significant military presence to carry out attacks.
At Pattan, in Baramulla district, there are two terrorists, readying to attack security forces.
What is most worrying is that satellite phones that were 'dormant' or switched off are suddenly operating in the Valley. They are likely to be carried by moles or terrorist sympathizers to direct them to targets, whether they are security forces or civilian targets. the sat-phones are being monitored.
