JAMMU, July 12: International fencer from Jammu and Kashmir and State Awardee, Sub-Inspector (J&K Police), Rashid Ahmed has been nominated as member of the prestigious Khelo India Scheme launched by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. As member of the Scheme, Rashid shall be part of the national team to identify the talented stuff at the grass root level and then help groom them into international stuff aiming at the 2024 Olympics. Under Khelo India Scheme, the Ministry shall be establishing national academies in different games at different parts of the country on modern lines. Meanwhile, back home after his nomination as member, Rashid expressed his thanks to the DGP J&K Police, Dr S P Vaid and ADGP Armed, A K Choudhary for all the support and encouragement. In the meantime, J&K Amateur Fencing Association patron, Vijay Sharma also congratulated Rashid on becoming member of Khelo India Scheme. |
