Kathua, Aug 6: The Excise Department alongwith Police Department at Lakhanpur foiled a major attempt of smuggling out bhukki from the State and seized a huge consignment of Poppy Husk (1400 kgs).
According to police, a vehicle bearing registration number PB06N-9095, was carried Fresh Fruit as goods. The seized consignment is the biggest ever catch of contraband item at Toll Post Lakhanpur weighing approx 1400 kgs. The vehicle alongwith Fresh Fruit boxes and contraband item (Bhukki) has been seized by the Police Station, Lakhanpur for further investigation/action under the NDPS Act. |
