Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Aug 6: Students of Government Primary School Loudhra and are locals are demanding up-gradation of this school that has been functioning since 1972. The previous coalition government of PDP-BJP's made tall claims of reforms in education sector but Government Primary School in far-flung area in Zone Panchari still awaits up gradation even after four decades of its establishment. Established in 1972, Government Primary School Loudhra has not been upgraded even after launch of Prime Minister's Schemes like 'Beti Bachao Beti Padao'. People, including students, allege that after class 5th the children have to walking seven kilometers by foot through the forest every day to reach their school. The children have to go to Kousal middle School, which is far away from this village. Many of the parents show reluctance to send their wards especially girl students to walk through the forest, as they mostly come across tigers, leopards and wild animals on the way to the Kousal School. The residents have been demanding up gradation of Primary School to the level of Middle School since long, but nothing has been done even though the previous coalition government upgraded 184 schools including 75 Middle Schools. |
