JKPCC discusses minority | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 6: A meeting of Minority Department of JKPCC was held here today at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu in which various issues of minority communities of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed threadbare. S. Gurdarshan Singh, Vice Chairman of Minority Department of PCC presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion S. Guardsman Singh expressed serious concern over the non inclusion of Camp Gole Gujral in Jammu Municipal Corporation. He said that Gole Gujral is situated adjacent to Talab Tillo and a most deserving case and demanded that it should be included into the jurisdiction of JMC. He reiterated their demand of constitution of State Minority Commission and said that in absence of Minority Commission the people of Minority community in J&K are facing lot of problems and they are not getting their due share in Govt. departments and other spheres of life. He further said that the minority community students are being deprived from scholarship for want of funds. Now the Centre Govt. has released adequate funds for this purpose and all the students of minority communities should get scholarship, he added. |
