| National Deworming Day observed at Health Block Ghat | | |  Early Times Report
Doda, Aug 10: In order to celebrate and observance of the National Deworming Day, the Department of Health Block Ghat in collaboration with BPMU NHM Ghat organized a programme at Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat (Doda) on Friday.
Block Medical Officer Ghat Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, BMO Ghat Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat said that the National Deworming Day is to be observed with an objective to free children from worm infections and to deworm them from 1-19 years at Schools and Anganwadi Centres. Dr Bhat further said that Deworming is done to cure the infected children and also to put an end to multiple other causes like anaemia, mental impairment, mal-nourishment etc which stimulates worm infections, adding that under this programme, the health department is providing tablet of Albendazole to the children with different flavoured taste so that children will swallow them easily owing to their good taste and color.
On this occasion, students from Govt Girls Middle School Ghat were also given the tablets of Albendazole. The programme was attended by Doctors, Paramedical Staff of Health Department Block Ghat besides the Staff and Students of Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat and Govt Girls Middle School Ghat. |
