Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Director School Education today.
A delegation of private schools of Jammu province led by Rameshwar Manhas president and Dr Hari Dutt Shishu working president along with other principals and stakeholders called on the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the situation in Kathua due to the unbridled and unbecoming behaviour of deputy commissioner kathua who has created fearpsyscosis amongst the principals of recognised private schools by issuing draconian Orders and locking couple of recognised schools without any prior notice. The Divisional Commissioner had a detailed discussion with the delegation and assured that he will take up the matter to the concerned authority and assured that an appropriate solution will be found. Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir private schools coordination committee in protest against the deputy commissioner Kathua has called for Jammu bandh tomorrow on 11th of August 2018 to show its solidarity with the schools of Kathua who are already called indefinite strike by closing all the institutions.
It is pertinent to mention here that deputy commissioner who happens to be the custodian of law and order is involved in instigating the civil society by calling a fringe group in his office and telling them to stand against private schools. His unbridled behaviour and repression upon the agitating private schools is evident from the fact that he has directed all his revenue officers to raid all private schools under the pretext of title verification. Jammu and Kashmir private schools coordination committee appeals to all the private schools of Jammu province to be united and decide once for all to weather to run the schools with dignity or we will keep on getting harassment from various quarters under one pretext or the other.
JKPSCC expresses anguish over the behaviour of deputy commissioner that private schools and its promoters who have unique contribution in the society are being dealt as criminals where as drug peddlers and mafia syndicate is ruling the roost in district kathua.
Meanwhile deputation also called on Director School Education and apprised him about the situation created by DC Kathua, which is ultra-vires to the domain of the department of school education. On hearing the deputation Director School Education immediately left for Kathua to take stock of the situation. The private schools coordination committee demands that government should immediately intervene in the matter to ensure that it's fall out should not go upon the forthcoming national festival in which majority of the school children are participating and their rehearsal is getting hampered.
