Drug peddler held with 110 grams of heroin | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 10: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', launched against drugs and its smuggling by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Vivek Gupta, today Gandhi Nagar police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 11o grams of heroin from their possession. Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar police station was on routine patrolling duty in the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar when reached near Chatri Chowk Gandhi Nagar one individual coming towards Chatri Chowk on seeing police party tried to escape in suspicious circumstances but the In-charge patrolling party assisted by other officials chased/ caught hold of him. "During questioning he disclosed his name as Mohd Sharief alias Bittu of Hiranagar in Kathua and on checking 110 grams of Heroin was recovered from the possession of the arrested accused person. Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 180/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started", said police spokesman adding that the said person is a habitual criminal and used to bring heroin from Kashmir to sell among the youth of Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts. The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia-SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Sandeep Bhagat under the supervision of DySP Rafiq Manhas-SDPO City South, I/C SP City South Vinay Kumar, and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta. |
