Rajouri, Aug 10: National De-worming Day was organised in every corner of Rajouri district covered under six health blocks of district Health Department under the overall supervision of Dr Suresh Gupta, CMO. The functions were jointly organized by the Health, Social Welfare, and Education Departments. "Children between age group of 2-19 years were administered Albendazole 400 mg tablet free of cost to control worm infections and a series of meeting were held to make the National Deworming Day Successful and to raise mass awareness" said CMO. Dr Iqbal Malik, BMO, Kandi said, a child health reflects the health of the society and the Nation as a Whole. Without awareness and sensitization, the departments involved cannot achieve 100 per cent success in conducting the programme. In Kandi, around 37000 thousand children and teenagers between the age group of 1 and 19 are targeted under the programme. 300 Government and private schools and 240 Anganwadi centre's extended the support for the success of this year campaign in Kandi block. De-worming tablets will be administered again on August 17 to those children who have missed to get the same today. The national de-worming day was also celebrated at district hospital under the supervision of Dr Mehmood Bajar, Medical Superintendent. |
