GDC Reasi organizes First Aid Training Workshop

Reasi, Sept 26: A three day First Aid Training workshop was organised at Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region from 24th-26th September, 2018. During the workshop lectures and practical demonstrations on various aspects of First Aid like Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), early management of burns, fractures and choking of air passage etc. were delivered. The training commenced with the inaugural address by Dr. SP Sarswat, Principal of the College. The resource person for the first day, Dr. Shelly Mahajan deliberated upon the brief history and functioning of Red Cross Society. She also apprised participants of first aid techniques for various injuries coupled with practical demonstrations to the participants. She was assisted by Kanchan Devi, Sr. Pharmacist. Vironica Marwah, Field Officer for Red Cross Society, Jammu Region was the facilitator for the event. On the second day of the workshop, Dr. Rashmi Sharma and Kanchan Devi demonstrated CPR technique to the participants. Additionally, topics like first aid management of Snake/ Dog bites, burns and poisoning were also covered. The training concluded with assessment of participants via a written test by Dr. Kavita Nijohan and her team. She also had an interactive session with students and took their feedback for the workshop. Dr. Suraya Pratap Singh, Prof. Kaurab Singh and Dr. Amit Bali conducted the proceedings of the event.
