Workshop on Cartoons, Caricatures organized | | | Early Times Report JAMMu, Sept 26: Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School, Jammu in collaboration with Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust and Lok Seva Gallery organized a workshop on Cartoons and Caricatures today in the school campus. The aim of the workshop was to inculcate love and appreciation for art and to instill creative skill in the younger generation in particular and to stimulate the faculty of imagination among students while identifying and encouraging young and talented artists to pursue their creative aspirations. Uday Shanker, a renewed cartoonist of Times of India, conducted the workshop and budding artists of the New Era Environmental High School and SD Tarapuri High School also got the golden opportunity to learn under his guidance. Principal, Esther William discussed the importance of cartoons and caricatures and how this art helps to raise political and social issues through pictorial satire. Students got the opportunity to see his body of work and also learnt basics of developing cartoons and caricatures along with its scope as a carrier option. It was immensely enriching experience for the students. |
